I AM A WARRIOR!

I have accepted a job at West Point Jr. High!! So I will be a West Point Warrior! I couldn't be more excited about this opportunity! Dave and I have been truly blessed with me getting this job! I had my interview with Davis School District a week and a half ago and I wasn't expecting to get an interview with a school so soon. So I decided that I would go down to Mesquite with my parents (last Monday). On Tuesday I received a call from the Assistant Principal wanting to interview me on Thursday! This was the only day they were doing interviews for the position so on Wednesday, my loving parents drove the kids and me back home! It was a long car ride and a short stay in Mesquite, but I have to say that it was well worth the drive! I wasn't sure that I would get the job because in the interview I felt like I was drowning in a an ocean full of sharks!! I was not prepared at all for the questions, but apparently I didn't appear that way to the interviewers! They asked me really specific questions about the curriculum that I would be teaching and how essays, reports, grammar, and about all the mechanics of English that I would use!! Yikes! I hadn't even thought about this stuff! Thank goodness that I am a talker and was able to breathe and think consciously enough to answer the questions without stuttering too much!!

I am so excited to be a part of the "family" as the faculty calls it! They made me feel very welcome and I am so excited about the way West Point takes care of their teachers in helping them with the students! It will be a great experience for me and I am exicted to start the journey!!

Dave and I went out to celebrate my job! He took me to Texas RoadHouse, which is my favorite place to eat right now! I'm surprised that it has taken the lead in front of Olive Garden (well for the moment-anyway)! It was fun to go out with Dave--we don't do it often enough. After we ate, we strolled through RC Willey and looked at furniture that we are in desperate need of. It was fun just to go on a date with my hubby!
This last week has been a busy week of going to Cherry Hill. Gage had so much fun playing in the water with Coooper! Gage went swimming Thursday, Friday, and Saturday! He is a fish in the water and he is getting more daring. Gage spent the night at Coooper's house on Friday--it was his first sleep over and it was really hard for me to let him stay. It just means that he is growing up too fast--and I don't want him to! Gage had a blast and didn't want to come home. I met Amy (my sis-in-law) and the kids over at Cherry Hill later on Sat. It was a lot of fun and it's great to be in the water when it's so hot outside!
I think this picture was after swimming on Thursday.

Bostyn loves playing in the water and he is a snatcher of other people's toys. He is constantly moving from place to place and taking things. It's funny to watch. He will climb in and out of the water onto the concrete and it doesn't seem to bother him at all.

Gage, Amy, and Cooper floated around the lazy river while I got Bostyn dressed and ready to go home. They had such a fun time floating around. Gage used to be so scared of being in the water without someone holding on to him and now he doesn't want any help. He loves being able to use his tube. This pic was on Thurs. and by Sat. he didn't want his floaties anymore--he just felt comfortable using his tube and floating down the river!

These pictures were down at my parent's home in Mesquite. We filled up a little pool and Gage had a blast. It was scary with Bostyn though, because he would crawl from edge to edge and stand up. I'm surprised he didn't fall over board and smack his head. Although, I'm glad that didn't happen!

Bostyn found a basket that looked like fun to crawl into. Gage got jealous and had to join him. The basket was a little bit too small to hold both of them in it.

While I was down south, I was able to visit one of my good friends, Alisa and her family. I had my parents take me up to St. George for the day and Alisa and I took the kids to the recreation center for some swimming. It was a lot of fun to watch the kids play. It was funny because Gage and Ashlyn never played on the same toys at the same time. When one finished the other one decided they wanted to play in that spot now. It was hilarious! When we got back to Alisa's house the kids were hiding out under the girls' bed. They were playing drums on the bottom of the bed. I'm so glad that I'm able to stay in touch with my good friends and that our kids can play together. It's crazy to think that as kids in highschool we would grow up and have kids of our own! I knew this part of my life would happen, but it's crazy to believe it's real!
